6th January. It's a new year! I hope you
had a good holiday!
And I haz plans. I have one Draco/Hermione story to finish in
the next couple of weeks, and then it's back to Legolas and Eowyn,
Hentmire, Gimli... and another familiar face... in A green-blooded
fish has been found in the sea.
I've been re-reading what I've already written, and can see where
it's going, at last, so look out for the first chapter, which
should appear early in February...
|
|
30th November. It's time for the seasonal
snow, and our traditional 'advent' calendar!
The story is called The Dead Forest and, in addition to Legolas
and Eowyn, it will feature Arador, and some pretty nasty human
villains! I hope you enjoy it.
And I'm posting the first four parts in advance because I'm going
away for a long weekend and I'm not sure if I'll have Internet
access whilst I'm away :-)
...
speak_me_fair has kindly made a wallpaper for The Water
is Wide (the Eowyn/Legolas challenge) which you can see

I love the way she uses text.

9th September. Eryn Carantaur is now hosted
by a different hosting company. During the changeover, you may
have had trouble finding it, but I hope that everything is back
to normal now!
As a result of the move, however, I've managed to lose the site
Mailing List. I haven't completely given up hope of getting it
back but, in the meantime, if you'd still like to receive emails
when the site is updated, just email me again and I'll create
a new list.
...
Over the last week or so, I've finally got around to revising
Shadowland. I'd never been totally happy with it, and it
had been preying on my mind! I haven't changed the plot, but I've
given it a good editing, re-written some of the sections so it's
clearer when the story changes point-of-view, and I've neatened
up a lot of the dialogue so that it contributes better to the
plot.
I've also made 30 pretty new banners for it!
|
|
|
|
So it's now the featured story :-)
...
I'm supposed to be writing A green-blooded fish, so I've
started working on Winter Magic again! I've only been making
new banners so far, but they've really got me thinking...
|
|
2nd August. Woo-oo, a new story!
|
|
It's called The White Ladies of Eryn Carantaur,
and it's a continuation of the ghost story I began last Halloween.
It was written for a LiveJournal challenge, so it starts with
a Prologue designed to introduce new readers to Eryn Carantaur;
if you prefer, you can jump straight to the new part, here:

Otherwise, click the button on the right to start at the beginning!

Speaking of ghost stories, I remember writing a very short one
(in 2005!), called Eowyn's Tale, which I was quite pleased
with, so I've made it the 'featured story'.
...
I've signed up for another LiveJournal challenge. This time the
theme is 'a journey', and I've decided it's time our friends went
back to Carhilivren (just for a while). I've also had a few other
ideas for future stories:

Some Legolas and Eowyn icons!

5th January. The Yuletide Calendar's finished!!
Hope you enjoyed it :-)
I have lots more ideas for stories and, although I'm writing
very slowly at the moment, I will keep working on them,
so there will be more updates!
|
|
25th December. Merry Christmas!
I'm running late, as usual, but I aim to have the epilogue to
the Yuletide Calendar posted tomorrow. I've also had an idea for
a tiny story starring Melannen and Eldarion, which I hope to write
during the holiday, and then I'll be finishing The White Ladies!
Hope you have a great holiday!
|
|
1st December. It's the Christmas season!
So the snow is back on the front page -- I love that snow! --
and I've started posting a Yuletide Calendar. I'm aiming to post
a part per day, but you know me, so don't worry if I get a bit
behind.
This story looks like being slightly darker than usual, &
I hope you'll enjoy it.
And look out for the sparkles on the doors this year :-)

31st October. "Well," as Samwise
Gamgee says, "I'm back!"
And I plan to stay!
I'm sorry I've been away so long. I haven't stopped writing,
but I found I needed to take a break from my Legolas/Eowyn stories
for a while and, as therapy, I've been writing lots of Draco/Hermione
stories (see below for more details). It's been fun, writing new
and, in Draco's case, complex characters, and dealing with magic,
and I think I've learned a lot from writing them.
But I've been missing Legolas and Eowyn :-(
So...
I've started a new short(ish) ghost story (since it's Halloween),
called The White Ladies of Eryn Carantaur, which I hope
to finish before Christmas! I'll also be doing the usual Yuletide
Calendar, which will feature the two wise women we met in the
third part of the Little Eowyn story, A Memory.
And then it will be back to Winter Magic!
...
I know that pairings are a matter of personal taste but, in case
you're interested, I've listed my Draco/Hermione stories below,
with links and summaries. All the stories are set after
the books, when Draco and Hermione are grown up but, in some cases,
they ignore the Epilogue.
I have two more Draco/Hermione stories already written (which
I'll be posting shortly) and I've committed myself to writing
a third, which will have a Christmas theme.
|
|
|
|
The Beginning
Everywhere Hermione looks, Draco's there, watching her. Does he
really love her, or are his intentions more sinister?
|
|
Cottage in
a Cornfield Hermione's doing voluntary work, Draco's marriage
is over. Neither is happy. What can they do about it?
|
|
The third
date Their first and second dates were perfect in all
respects but one; what will happen on their third?
|
|
Quid Pro
Quo Ron loses more than his shirt at Draco's gaming tables.
|
|
...
Some Legolas and Eowyn icons!
|
|
A few thoughts about future stories.
The following bits and pieces are Work (or, rather, Ideas) in
Progress...
|
|
Legolas, Eowyn and Hentmirë return to the Bay of Carhilivren
in search of Hentmirës long-lost cousinyes, that's
the Early Bird in the background! But what is the secret
of the green-blooded fish?
|
|
Legolas and Eowyn take little Melannen to visit the Dragon Tower
(which Legolas promised to build at the end of A Yuletide Dragonhunt).
But someone is up to no good...
|
|
A band of outlaws has taken up residence in Eryn Carantaur, and
is terrorising travellers on the road to Caras Arnen. A continuation
of The servant and the lady.
|
|
Rebellion has errupted in the north of Rohan, but Berkin is on
the case. Under seige, he sends Lëonórwyn to Edoras
for help, and Legolas and Eowyn ride to the rescue.
|
|
A gentle scholar, a teacher at the Academy of Minas
Tirith, has invented something he believes will improve the lot
of all mankind. One of his colleagues disagrees. Legolas and Eowyn
investigate his death and the disappearance of his life's work.
|
|
Celegorm has a secret that sets him apart from other
elves. When a terrible disaster strikes Eryn Carantaur, one of
the victims asks for his help...
|
|
A strange plague is spreading through Laketown...
|
|
And two more stories that do not fit into the cycle...
|
|
Helm's Deep: whilst seeking renown, Eowyn instead wins the love
of two elves... A story based on the Movie scripts but including
lots of 'missing scenes': Legolas' first sight of Eowyn in the
Golden Hall; Eowyn's bravery in the Glittering Caves; Haldir's
brush with death; Elrond's thoughts at Dunharrow; Gimli's unsolicited
advice; Legolas' accidental eavesdropping in the House of Healing...
|
|
Eowyn joins the fellowship! Don't ask me how: I
don't know yet. But it just has to be done.
